The Red Dragon Element6 B is one of those anniversary darts that feels a bit special the moment you open the box.
What really stood out was the barrel itself. Gav liked the fact it looked grippy enough to maybe overcome his usual problem with straight barrels, while Max was excited because the shape was much more in his comfort zone.
In the hand, this is a really interesting dart because the grip does not come mainly from deep traditional cuts
Max explained that the repeated ring grip itself is actually fairly shallow and narrow, but the Element 6 coating is what changes everything. He described it as feeling almost like sandpaper, giving the barrel a rough texture that adds a lot of traction even though the ring structure underneath is not especially aggressive. That lines up neatly with Red Dragon’s own wording, which says the dart is “sculpted with round grooves and fortified diamond grip at the front and centre.”
On the board, we both had moments with them. Gav managed a couple of tons and a 140, which for him was a decent return on a parallel dart, while Max came out on top thanks to the way the shape suited him better. The balance and width were good, the dart grouped tightly, and that even though the coating was rough, it still worked really well once on the right grip area.
rice-wise, the live store figure is £70.00, which is exactly the number you quoted in the review. That puts it above the entry-level anniversary reissues, but it also feels justified because this dart is very much about the specialist Element6 Diamond Fusion finish and the anniversary presentation rather than just being a standard straight barrel.
