Mission’s Force 90 Vortex integrated flights are very much a “second generation” take on their popular Force 90 system, and you can see the difference straight away. On the rack they look vibrant and modern, with a full spread of solid and translucent colours that really pop — the purple ones you used in the video in particular look superb on the Tai Chi barrels. In the packet, they come neatly presented in a simple plastic insert that holds all three one-piece stem-and-flight units securely in place so they don’t rattle around or get bent in transit.
In the hand, the big change from the original Force 90s is obvious. You’ve still got the standard 2BA thread at the front, but instead of a thick stem continuing up into the base of the flight, the Vortex uses a much slimmer spine that runs all the way through the moulded flight. There’s also a subtle grip band near the base — extra grooves that give your fingers a bit more purchase when you’re tightening them into the barrel. The stem section where the flight starts is noticeably narrower than the original Force 90, and the whole piece feels lighter overall, while still being strong and sturdy with very little twist.
On the board, the Vortex really showed what it’s designed to do. Fitted to the Tai Chi darts with the short stem version, the setup sat a little lower than with your original Force 90 flights, and both of you commented on how light and natural they felt in the throw. Grouping was excellent — including a tidy 180 — and, crucially, there was next to no deflection. Because there’s no thick stem sitting under the flight, the dart barrel can slide down between the fins instead of clattering off a big plastic block, so you don’t see those weird angles or big kicks out of the treble.
Flight in the air looked really stable: no wobble, no rocking, just a clean, level path. The spine that runs right down into the flight seems to guide following darts into the group rather than bouncing them away. After a good few minutes of peppering the treble 20, there were only a few small dings and scuffs on the flights — exactly what you’d expect when you’re using a grippy barrel and throwing tight groups. The material has just enough flex that, when you do clip a flight, it tends to move slightly instead of firing the incoming dart off miles to the side.
In terms of personal preference, Gav was all-in: already a Force 90 user, he said these Vortex versions are going straight back into his own darts and he’ll happily chase more 140s and 180s with them. Max loved how they flew but was honest about the practical side for competitions — he’s gone back to standard separate flights and stems so he can swap things out quickly mid-game, rather than unscrewing an integrated setup. For practice, league players and anyone who loves integrated systems, though, both of you agreed these feel fantastic and make it very easy to throw naturally.
At £6.95 a set, with loads of colours and three stem lengths (short, tweenie/intermediate and medium) in both Standard No2 and Shape No6, the Force 90 Vortex sits in a really strong spot: proper tech upgrade over the original Force 90, but still a very affordable way to try a premium integrated system.

These integrated flights feel like a genuine step up from the original Force 90s, with the slimmer spine design keeping the dart rock-steady in the air and letting barrels slide between the fins instead of clattering off a thick stem. I loved how natural and light they felt on the Tai Chi darts, and how easy it was to just relax and pepper the treble 20 without worrying about big deflections. They picked up the odd ding, as any flight will when you’re grouping well, but held their shape nicely thanks to the built-in flex. For me, they’re going straight back into my own darts — a brilliant, great-value integrated option that makes tight, confident grouping feel really achievable.
