The Mission Oskar Lukasiak darts are a really sharp-looking player dart and one that feels more interesting in the hand than it first appears in the box. In your review, Max picked up straight away on the mix of gold, silver and black, plus the way the black rear section visually shortens the barrel and makes the dart look a bit more compact than it really is.
The barrel layout is one of the more interesting parts of this dart. Up front, you have a long tapered nose flowing into a gold grip section that Max described as almost a twin ring, or a single ring with a very shallow groove cut through the middle. That front section then moves into a smooth centre with the etched Mission logo, before changing into a rear black grip with a micro ring area and then a wider-grooved rear section. That matches the live product description, which notes wide radial grooves with a gold PVD coating at the front, a smooth centre with the laser-etched Mission logo, and a smaller section of fine milled cuts in the black rear section.
On the board, they actually went pretty well. Gav had a 132 and 125 in the five-minute throwing window, while Max put together a 140 and a 125, which is a decent return considering he was a bit wary of how grippy they looked. Max said he had to hold right at the back of the grip section to avoid pulling them, and that even there the dart still felt very grippy. That led him to a 4 / 5 grip rating, which sounds about right from the way he described them. These are not a soft, forgiving dart — they are designed to give proper purchase and a compact, punchy feel.
At £55.95, it also looks good value. A strong price for a player dart in 95% tungsten,
