Torus 270 Mission Dartboard Light

Adam took a closer look at the Mission Torus 270 dartboard light, building it up from the box and getting it mounted before testing it in a proper throw session. Rather than being just a simple ring light, the Torus 270 is designed as a full lighting system: bright white LEDs, a lightweight aluminium frame, and that distinctive open-bottom 270° shape. His focus was on how fiddly it is to assemble, how solid it feels once fitted, and – most importantly – whether it actually kills shadows and keeps the board clearly lit from every angle.

Out of the box you get the LED ring, three support legs, board clamps, Allen key and hardware, plus a USB-C power lead. Once the clamps are positioned using the included cardboard template, the legs screw onto the ring and the whole unit slides neatly onto the dartboard. It’s designed to clip directly to any standard bristle board, with or without a surround or in a cabinet, so you don’t need to drill through the light itself or hang anything from the ceiling.

With the Torus 270 powered up, the LEDs throw a clean, bright wash across the scoring area, eliminating the usual dark bands and treble-ring shadows you get from overhead or side lighting. The 270° design leaves the bottom of the board open, which makes it easier for shorter or younger players to step right in and pull darts without catching elbows on a full 360 ring – and it’s less likely to get knocked in tight pub or home setups. For players who want finer control, it also works with the Mission Torus Dimmer Switch so you can dial the brightness up or down to suit your room.

In short, the Torus 270 is a great value light that works with any board and setup leaving no shadows and lighting up the board really well.
