As part of Red Dragon’s 50th anniversary range, the Hexoset 3 darts are all about celebrating innovation. The barrel itself isn’t round — it features six flat faces, giving it that distinctive hexagonal feel between the fingers. The grip is concentrated in the front and mid sections, made up of wide ring grips with small dimple-like cuts, while the rear tapers down but keeps those flat edges before rounding off at the very end. On throw, the experience was very much split depending on style. Max struggled to get consistency due to the flat edges, as he naturally rolls the dart in his fingers and found the shape disrupted his release. However, Gav really enjoyed the challenge and actually scored well, hitting a 125, 123 and steady tons while adapting to the dart. Max still managed some solid scoring including a 140 and multiple tons, but noted it took time to adjust. The darts flew well once dialled in, but the shape is definitely something you need to get used to.
