The Datadart Lumos darts look like one of those sets that quietly offer a lot more than you might expect at first glance.
Datadart describes the Lumos as a straight barrel dart with a bullnose front, two distinct grip styles, radial grooves at the front and ultrafine radial grooves towards the rear, finished in black electroplating with a laser-etched Datadart logo.
In the hand, I think these come across as a very usable modern parallel dart. In Max’s review, he talked through that natural-finish bullnose front, the alternating staggered twin-ring grip sections with black inlaid grooves, the smoother mid section, and then the micro-ring grip further back. What I like about that is it gives the dart a bit of identity without becoming too fussy. The live product description backs that up as well, calling it a straight barrel with two distinct grip styles split between the front and rear.
On the board, these looked exactly like the sort of dart a lot of players could pick up and throw with very little adjustment. Max more or less said that himself during the throwing section. He said they felt easy to throw, he was getting a nice clean release every time, and they were flying nicely. He also mentioned they were going in a little bit flatter, which he put down more to the setup than the barrel itself. That feels fair, because the barrel shape looks very neutral overall — long, slim and centre weighted — and that tends to make a dart pretty accessible across different throwing styles.
Performance-wise, these seemed to do a really solid job. Max settled in quickly, hit a ton, then took out a 101 finish in the routine, and his overall takeaway was that they felt comfortable, clean and consistent on the release. He even said that with a little setup tweak, these could easily become an everyday dart. That is always a strong sign, because it means the barrel itself is doing a lot right even before any personal fine-tuning with stems and flights.
The weight range is also worth noting. These come in 24g, 26g and 28g, which means they are aimed more towards players who like something a little heavier. Max pointed that out in the review too, and I agree with him that it is a nice option for that market. A lot of ranges taper off before you get into the heavier end, so having a proper 24 to 28 gram spread makes these stand out a bit more.
