On paper, Black Opal looks like a proper “lock-in and rip” barrel: short, 48 mm contour, high 95% tungsten content and a very busy grip pattern that should feel secure from almost any hand position.
The black + coral PVD and rock-effect machining push this firmly into premium/collector territory, and the inclusion of spare Caliburn EVO points, extra Force 90 Vortex all-in-one flights and a point tool makes it feel like a complete kit rather than just three barrels in a box. It reads as a strong option for players who like a compact, high-grip, high-feedback dart with a slightly front-leaning feel and standout styling.

The Review
Black Opal Mission Darts
On first impressions, Black Opal feels like the “all-in” option for players who like serious grip and serious theatre. The 48 mm barrel is compact and nicely contoured, and that rock-effect machining plus black/coral PVD makes it look more like a custom piece than a standard production dart. The grip pattern runs pretty much the full length, so whether you’re a front, mid or rear gripper you should be able to lock in without hunting for a sweet spot, and the 95% tungsten core keeps things dense and chunky without getting silly-fat in the hand. Paired with the Caliburn EVO points and Force 90 Vortex all-in-one setup, it reads as a very stable, high-feedback dart that wants to be thrown with confidence rather than feathered in. On paper it’s a great fit for players who prefer a strong 4/5 style grip and a slightly front-leaning, compact barrel that still has loads of personality on the board.
