The Red Dragon Fightmaster Torpedo 2 is a proper throwback dart and one of the more distinctive releases in the 50 Years of Red Dragon celebration range. This is not a modern slim parallel with fancy milling everywhere — it is a short, chunky, front-loaded torpedo with a classic front knurl / nail grip, and that gives it a very different feel from most current player darts.
The barrel itself is very straightforward but in a good way. Up front there’s a volute silver point, which Max noted gave a little bit of grip going into the board even though he’d still prefer a coated point.
There is a black standard 32mm point, a big rounded bullnose, then straight into that old-school nail grip before the barrel tapers back into a ringed rear section with black inlaid grooves. The dart is listed at 8.0mm x 40.64mm, which explains why it feels so compact and thick in the hand, and why it gives such an obvious push point.

The best part is probably the price. Red Dragon currently lists the Fightmaster Torpedo 2 at £25.00, which is even cheaper than the “very, very cheap” description in our review. For an 80% tungsten commemorative dart in the anniversary range, that is excellent value, especially if you want to try something old-school and completely different from modern match darts.
