The Unicorn Vincent D’Hondt Global darts are one of those sets that look striking straight away, but what really stood out was just how clean and repeatable they seemed on the board.
In the hand, I think these come across as a really smart, modern player dart with a grip layout that gives different throwing styles something to work with. Max talked through the fairly long silver point with the spiral-style grip, then the brushed tapered nose, the square-cut ring grip at the front, the longer twin-ring grip section through most of the barrel, and the small smooth section carrying the Vinnie and Unicorn branding before the stem. What stood out most to me is that, despite the colour changes and different sections, the dart sounded very consistent in feel. Max said the rear and middle sections felt nicely grippy, while the front was a touch milder but still had enough bite because of the square-cut profile.
On the board, these looked excellent. Max described them as a lovely clean dart to pick up and throw, and that really sums up the whole session. He liked the points, said they gripped nicely in the board, and then produced a lovely five-dart finish, which is always a huge plus in one of these reviews. More importantly, he kept coming back to how repeatable they felt — every time he picked them up, he felt like his fingers were landing in the same place and the dart was giving him the same flight through the air.
Grip-wise, Max gave them a 3 / 5, which sounds spot on. He said the grooves held his finger and thumb nicely and, even though he normally prefers more of a push point, he actually got a slight pull from these that gave the dart an effortless bit of power. That tells me the grip is strong enough to feel secure, but not so sharp that it becomes awkward or overaggressive.
At £51.95 for a 90% tungsten player dart with a consistent grip feel, signature setup and smart finish, I still think this comes across as solid value.
